AAU Basketball Australia Bringing U.S.A Level Competition Down Under.

AAU Basketball Australia delivers premier, high-performance tournaments for basketball athletes nationwide. Originating from the prestigious U.S.A AAU system, this model has been adopted in Australia to give players access to elite level competition and development opportunities comparable to those in the United States.

Why Pride AAU?

AAU basketball is fast-paced, physical, and highly competitive and that’s exactly why we embrace it. Competing in this environment challenges our athletes to elevate their game, sharpen their decision-making, and develop the toughness required at higher levels of basketball. Pride AAU competes in four tournaments each year, including one interstate event.

Priority will be given to athletes who commit to participating with Pride across multiple tournaments. This approach supports consistent team development and maximises long term growth for both individual players and the program as a whole.

Our athletes are taught to translate skills into game performance, stay composed under pressure, and play with purpose. Through elite coaching, structured team preparation, and regular exposure to high-level competition, we give every athlete the tools to grow both on and off the court.

Each game is a teaching moment where we guide athletes on implementing their skills during gameplay.

Avoiding Bad Habits

Inexperienced coaching can lead to bad habits or misunderstandings of the game. We focus on correcting these early.

Our AAU program stands apart by placing a strong emphasis on preparation and player development. In the weeks leading up to each tournament, athletes take part in 10 structured 90-minute team training sessions designed to build chemistry, refine skills, and implement game strategies.
